Now that the kids are off to college, it's just me and the dog. I am bright, witty, accomplished, and not used to tooting my own horn. Socially left of center and an atheist. Not into organized sports. I'm attracted to people who are funny, creative, and intellectual. Looking to find someone who is a combination of intellectual, off-beat, artistic, and down to earth with similar interests. A friend to see music, comedy, movies. Hiking? Maybe travel?

My work is immensely satisfying but often emotionally draining. I recharge by bicycling (No spandex or helmet mirror, just a fun workout) or hanging out with friends with similar interests (admittedly some are only television friends. I'm pretty sure Jon Stewart and I are best buddies) or connecting with my daughters (grown, in college, and the coolest people I know).

I'm really good at my work. I enjoy working with people, teaching, sharing my technical skills. It will be hard to give it up when I retire. Five years? I also come from a long line of carpenters and have done construction my whole life. I love doing renovation and re-design in my spare time, am good at it, and wish I had more time for it. Unfortunately, I'm also really good at coming up with more projects than I have time for. I would like to make more free time for travel.

Books: I do a lot of informational reading for my job and, unfortunately, I now get no pleasure out of reading for fun. I do appreciate those who read a lot and I love listening to folks talk about books.
TV: Daily Show, Colbert Report (RIP), At Midnight, many other CC shows, HGTV shows, Income Property, Penn & Teller's Fool Us and Wizard Wars, SNL, Who Do You Think You Are? How it's Made, and most documentaries.
Computer: Don't have HBO so need to go online for Bill Maher and John Oliver. Netflix for movies and series: OITNB, Br Ba, HIMYM, way behind on Mad Men and House of Cards.
Podcasts: Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me! Radiolab, the Moth, Penn's Sunday School, This American Life, WTF, The Nerdist, Car Talk (RIP Tommy)
Movies: I'm an easy audience for movies. Last movie I saw was Interstellar. Loved it.
Shows: Last 3 live shows I saw were Bill Maher, David Sedaris, and Penn & Teller.
Food: Mexican, Italian, Thai, Ethiopian, Wildflower, Pita Jungle. I love food more than I should.
