I'm a unique soul (an odd duck some might say) that's part scientist, part bohemian. I spend my working days doing complex technical stuff and my personal time learning about and enjoying things like art and music and philosophy. Seems there's almost nothing I don't want to learn, and discovering great new music is one of the absolute joys of my existence. I can be sophisticated at one moment and put my foot in my mouth the next (I think my friends and family forgive me because they know I have a heart of gold). I love to joke around (usually at my own expense) and can be empathetic and sensitive as well. I'm a great listener and I get that when a woman wants to talk about something she's not necessarily looking for solutions. I am insanely good with kids and pets (probably because I appreciate their honesty and purity).

Downside?
I'm not a super-active, go-go-go guy. I enjoy getting out and about in moderation (on balance I'm introverted and need introspection - 'cave time' I've heard it called, to recharge my 'batteries'). I can sometimes get frustrated and 'go off' on a rant when I see the ignorance and greed ruling the world but my children help me recognize it and reel it in. :-) I'm also a bit of a snob when it comes to popular culture (I despise corporate-produced media custom tailored to reach the widest audience).

Looking for someone of like mind of course... Not too like-minded cause then there would be no diversity, no tension of ideas, no discovery of solutions and no growth.

That's about it... for now (I'm constantly revising this).
