People seem to find me sociable, pleasant, kind and amusing but also distant and aloof. I get along very well with them but I am something “other” and hard to figure out. I am not at all religious. I do not believe in the supernatural and I do not consider myself “spiritual” in any traditional sense. That said, I do find a powerful sense of awe and wonder at the nature of the universe and how it works. Cold and impersonal? Maybe, but I find lasting satisfaction in how things really are—not how we may wish them to be. There are no magic cosmic dog and pony shows. I enjoy meeting other non-theists at various Meetup groups around the area for drinks and conversation. I also like to attend groups involved in separation of Church and State. I am extremely fond of animals and the natural world and I feel a deep abiding kinship with the other creatures on this planet. I am moved by the connectedness of it all and it how it weaves together to form a greater whole. Less esoteric—I like warm fuzzy friends to play with—cats, dogs, birds just about any kind of critter. I love building and creating things. I like great, inspirational projects that I can attack with obsessive passion and then collapse and say "it's done!". I love working with color, and form. As a kid, I always had to have “the big box” of crayons. Art supplies were my favorite Christmas presents. It might be kind of fun to find someone else who likes to experiment with creativity. Despite my reason based approach to life I'm still a bit of a romantic. I think it would be rather nice to share a candle lit dinner with the right person. I would like to send flowers out of the blue and lay in bed together, listening to the rain.
