I'm a jack of all trades who makes his living publishing books (for myself and clients). I'm not a participant in pop culture--that means documentaries and indie films instead of television, creating instead of consuming, and not a slave to fashion (though I do dress up nicely). I detest the club scene. I'm health conscious and am a near vegan. I regularly run and/or swim and occasionally lift weights. I'm mutlicultural, happy with tats, piercings, but have none myself. I have a healthy respect for entheogens, and a healthy disrespect for hierarchies. About ten years ago the DNC listed me as one of the nation's "1000 leaders in democratic thought."

I'm not desperate to be with someone. I'm content to remain alone if I never find a kindred spirit. I don't care to compromise. I like myself too much. However, it would certainly be great to find someone with similar values, and a gentle heart.

I have a 10 year old boy from a previous marriage who is with me half the time.

I love doing shared activities with a significant other (cooking, taking walks, making things, even chores). I think a fun date would be going to someplace scenic in Richmond and talking about shared interests. I'm a good, proactive communicator and an activist for several humanitarian causes.

Though I'm an atheist, I was previously a seminary-trained theologian. I also have formal training in music, music theory, martial arts. I'm 44, but I still get carded on occasion. I enjoy ancient and obscure forms of music as well as jazz, classic rock, funk, and some of the more innovative modern rock. I've been in a choir and a Renaissance ensemble before and I think it would be cool to have a significant other with whom I could sing (not required, just an idea).
