I'm an active 62 year old. I put my life on hold for quite some time, due to family obligations. But, I'm now getting out and enjoying life again. I like to ride my off-road bike with my dog. Recently, I bought a sailing kayak (yes the dog comes along sometimes). Went skiing for the first time in 15 years, this past winter... pleasantly surprised that I didn't kill myself. I was once a certified scuba diver, and I used to play a lot of tennis and volleyball.


If you're not the outdoorsy, athletic type, no worries... I am also quite the couch potato :) I do have some favorite TV shows and enjoy movies, music, and art (that isn't to arcane). I almost always take a camera with me when I go biking, hiking or kayaking.


I have traveled extensively. Spent a summer in Kenya, while in college, been to China, Europe several times, and to Cuba (where my mother grew up). Right now, I'm doing more domestic road-trip type traveling, but plan to do some international travel in the future.

Not too stressful... open, relaxed and honest. Comfortable enough to share a few personal warts, without obsessing over them.

Surfing... I grew up (and live) near the beach. I body surfed as a kid, but only tried a board once, briefly, just before starting college. I'm thinking about trying surfing, sometime this year. Just need to get in a little bit better shape, first.

To relax, explore, and rebuild my social life. After I decompress a bit more, I also want to do some volunteer work. Right now, I donate to causes I believe in, but want to eventually get more active. I was very politically active (on the "far left") back in college.

I'm a sporadic reader. I read newspaper and science magazines regularly, but go through phases of avidly reading books... then not.

Someone with whom I have some chemistry, both physically and emotionally. Attraction, for me, is not easily quantified, it's just something I feel. Unfortunately, I'm sometimes kind of thick, and don't recognize when the attraction is mutual.
