I am an atheist, existential, non-consumerist thinker, dreamer, and doer, who is probably spinning his wheels seeking a match on this site. I am, however, putting my beliefs out there to see if there is anyone who shares what I think. I am quite different than most you will ever meet. I have a master's degree in communications, and had been enrolled in two PhD programs in the past, however, a growing lack of faith in the university system has tarnished my idea of the academy. But I am very interested in the growing epidemic of screen time and its effects on early childhood development.

I currently restore 19th century homes, whilst working in hospitality so my daytime hours are free to accomplish said work. I work roughly 80 hours a week, enjoy my free time as a precious commodity, and wish to surround myself with people who understand hard work yields amazing rewards! I am a renaissance man who loves to involve myself in the vast beauty of life. I love jazz, sports, rock music, classical and opera, philosophy, hiking, weight lifting. I try to eat mostly plants and organic, but am not a vegetarian. My health status is great! I am in great shape, don't drink right now (this to get this house fixed up in the time frame I have), but don't care if you do. I feel like I am 30 again!

The first thirty years of my adult life have been spent on the hamster wheel, seeking a life that I now view with disdain. I am emerging out of the fire like the mythical Phoenix, forged into my own understanding of success, redefined, stronger, and more balanced, with humanist goals. I accept everyone at their level, and let everyone be who they want to be. I do not foist my views on anyone, and let everyone live a life of their choosing. I grew up a conservative, however, since the Bush era, conservative social platforms (or lack thereof) became adverse to my comprehension of common sense and empathy, so I changed my political views to meet my values. I am by no means a political zealot, and hope you are not.

My goals are to hide in plain sight, continue working on my career until I have the resources to buy a farm, either here, or abroad, to be an off-grid sustainable community that generates its own hydropower, and teaches children pre-consumerist, or at the very least, pre-smart phone ideals. There is a ton of industrial and preindustrial era technology that is totally viable that is somehow not being taught to our children. I would like to reverse that. Not that contemporary technology is bad. I think we should use the best of the best, not for convenience, but for sustainability.

I seek a salt-of-the-earth woman, who works with her hands, mind, and heart. Who works as hard, or harder than I do. Who understands the true meaning of partnership and loyalty. Someone who is of child rearing age to build a family. I seek someone who wants a true adventure, and doesn't use the word "adventure" as a euphemism for going to the beach or wineries. If this sounds scary to you, very good! Then you are not a match. But, if this sounds like a life worth living, message me.
